The Dallas City Council will take a final vote on the $3.8 billion budget on September 23ʳᵈ. Show up to make our demands heard! Don't let them forget the thousands who have flooded the streets on again and again to stand up for justice this year.
We are protesting to defend black lives in Dallas, and in solidarity with activists suffering repression by police and federal agents across the country. As always, handing out water and packaged snack is really really appreciated, and those who wish to stay socially distanced are encouraged to follow along in their cars!
We'll be holding this demonstration in downtown Dallas to:
- Tell the city to meet our demands to redirect a significant portion of the police budget to community needs.
- Fight for the withdrawal of federal troops deployed against protesters across the country.
- Support the voices across the country demanding justice for victims of police and vigilante killings.
- Continue building the movement for community control of the police! http://kutt.it/communitycontrol
