What's Ours is Yours!

We have experienced first hand the joy and blessing that has come our way as we have tried to make our ministry (Tapestry at Irving Bible Church) an open book for other local churches wanting to start or grow their own adoption, foster care or international orphan care ministry. As we see it, these churches, no matter how similar or even geographically close to us they may be, will likely reach people and serve children that we will never be able to reach and serve. So from our perspective, it only makes sense to extend our open hand and invite them to take what we have, make it their own (and hopefully make it better) and then pass it along to the next church that God calls to this exciting and challenging area of ministry.

Our view is what’s ours is not truly ours. Any success or progress our ministry has made in the past several years is because God has been at work in and through people who love Him.

So what’s ours is yours . . . and if your church ministry can use our resources, our ideas or our past events, then we invite you to do so.

Check out the following Tapestry resources which may be helpful to you and your church ministry:

Adoption & Foster Care Resources – resources for adoptive and foster parents as well as those considering adoption or foster care

Tapestry Events Archive – a descriptive list of past Tapestry large group events

Tapestry Strategy Guides – brief summaries of why and how we do some of our small groups

Tapestry Adoption Assistance Fund – a helpful overview of how the Tapestry Fund is organized and operates (inlcuding our form letters and forms)

Stories that Encourage and Inspire – a collection of stories from Tapestry adoptive and foster families

Other Resources to Help Local Church Ministries – a diverse collection of additional resources to help local church ministries

About DFW Alliance

The DFW Alliance was organized in early 2006 to bring together local church adoption and orphan care ministries from various Christian churches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It was founded by Tapestry, a ministry for adoptive and foster families at Irving Bible Church in Irving, Texas, and “His Child” Orphan Care Ministry at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The DFW Alliance seeks to provide area ministries and church leaders with opportunities to share ideas and coordinate and collaborate on events and activities to serve adoptive and foster families as well as orphans, at-risk children and children in the local foster care system. The DFW Alliance also focuses on efforts to create and support effective local church adoption, foster care and orphan care ministries across the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
