So Much Bigger Than Us

Money. It is an undeniable reality of virtually every adoption journey. For some, this reality also represents a significant challenge that must be navigated in order to successfully complete the adoption process.

Local churches are helping Christian couples conquer the financial challenge of adoption by creating adoption assistance funds. These church funds pool financial resources and make them available to qualifying applicants through matching grants and/or covenant loans. The funds also have a tremendous catalytic effect as they invite many people into the adoption process in a tangible way, and as a result many more are able to witness and participate in the incredible adoption stories that God is authoring.

Several churches in the DFW Alliance have established adoption assistance funds, including Lake Pointe Church, Christ Chapel Bible Church and Irving Bible Church.

To find out more about how your church can start an adoption assistance fund visit the Tapestry Adoption Assistance Fund at Irving Bible Church, or check out this helpful guide from Shaohannah’s Hope that provides an overview of how to establish a fund at your church. You can also watch this video that highlights how God is using church adoption assistance funds to form families and transform lives for His glory.

About DFW Alliance

The DFW Alliance was organized in early 2006 to bring together local church adoption and orphan care ministries from various Christian churches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It was founded by Tapestry, a ministry for adoptive and foster families at Irving Bible Church in Irving, Texas, and “His Child” Orphan Care Ministry at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The DFW Alliance seeks to provide area ministries and church leaders with opportunities to share ideas and coordinate and collaborate on events and activities to serve adoptive and foster families as well as orphans, at-risk children and children in the local foster care system. The DFW Alliance also focuses on efforts to create and support effective local church adoption, foster care and orphan care ministries across the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
