Church Adoption & Foster Care Conferences

Two DFW Alliance church ministries host annual adoption and foster care conferences – and have done so for each of the past several years.

Tapestry (Irving Bible Church) will host its fourth annual conference on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Details for the 2009 Tapestry Conference will be available at tapestryconference.org by September 1, and online registration begins September 14.

Lake Pointe Adoption & Orphan Care Ministry (Lake Pointe Church) will host its fourth annual conference on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Details and online registration for the 2009 Lake Pointe Conference will be available at adoptionconference.net in early September.

In addition, you can listen to the audio of a breakout session presented by Michael Monroe (Tapestry) and Kim Johnson (Lake Pointe) at Summit V entitled Keys to Hosting an Effective Church Adoption and Foster Care Conference, in which they talk in detail about their respective conferences – the why, the what and the how. You can also download the handout materials for this breakout session as well. These resources are especially helpful other church ministries wanting to learn more about hosting their own adoption and foster care conference.

About DFW Alliance

The DFW Alliance was organized in early 2006 to bring together local church adoption and orphan care ministries from various Christian churches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It was founded by Tapestry, a ministry for adoptive and foster families at Irving Bible Church in Irving, Texas, and “His Child” Orphan Care Ministry at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The DFW Alliance seeks to provide area ministries and church leaders with opportunities to share ideas and coordinate and collaborate on events and activities to serve adoptive and foster families as well as orphans, at-risk children and children in the local foster care system. The DFW Alliance also focuses on efforts to create and support effective local church adoption, foster care and orphan care ministries across the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
